The purpose of a notary signing a document to confirm a signature is to provide an independent verification that the person who signed the document is indeed the person they claim to be.

When a notary public verifies a signature, they are not only confirming that the person signed the document, but also that they did so willingly. The notary will typically ask the signer to present a government-issued identification document, such as a passport or driver's license, to confirm their identity.

Notarization provides an extra layer of protection against fraud or forgery. By having a notary witness the signing of a document and affix their official seal or stamp, it can deter individuals from falsely claiming to have signed a document, or from tampering with the document after it has been signed.

Notarized documents are often required for legal and financial transactions, such as real estate transactions, powers of attorney, and certain types of contracts. In some cases, a notarized signature may be required by law to make a document legally binding.

Guarantor in any documents, including passports. Normally the notary is required to know the person for 6 months or 2 years. We do not act as guarantors on any documents.
