BORROWING/MORTGAGE DOCUMENTS

A notary signing agent is a notary public who specializes in the notarization of loan and real estate documents. Specifically, their role is to oversee the signing of important legal documents that are used in the buying, selling, and refinancing of homes and other real estate transactions.

As a notary signing agent, their job is to verify the identity of the signers and ensure that all documents are properly signed, dated, and notarized. They may also be responsible for explaining the contents of the documents to the signers and answering any questions they may have.

Notary signing agents are typically hired by title companies, mortgage lenders, law firms out of town or out of province, and other organizations involved in the real estate industry. They play an important role in ensuring that all parties involved in a real estate transaction have a clear understanding of the documents they are signing and that the transaction is legally binding.

IDENTIFICATION REQUIRED

One piece of Photo ID is the basic ID requirement for all notarizations. Examples of acceptable photo ID include:

  • Passport,

  • Driver’s License,

  • Permanent Resident Card


If your documents involve selling, buying or borrowing in real estate matters - in province or outside Ontario - we require a second ID such as:

  • Credit Card,

  • Social Insurance Card


    This is an identify fraud concern and is normally required by the law firm, notary, or title insurace provider of the real estate document package.

  • Be advised that we retain your identity information. We also retain a scanned version of all documents signed. We do not share this information.

  • Often the documents require a lawyer/notary to sign, which we have available.

  • We must email the signed documents package directly to the document provider. You are responsible for physical delivery of all signed documents.


Prices normally are $150.44 plus HST

$170.00 with tax, inclusive

for acting as agents in the documents signing, with notarization and sealed where needed, and completion of ID confirmation.
